How We Hire..

Canyons receives thousands of applications each season. Here’s what to expect after you submit your application:
 
Depending on when you apply, it may take a few days to a few weeks for you to hear from one of our recruiters. We begin recruiting for seasonal positions months before the season begins, and as such may not be in touch until closer to the season start. It is not necessary for you to call to follow up on the status of your application. If we are interested in considering you for a position at Canyons, we will get in touch with you via phone or email to set up an interview.
 
Prior to an interview, please review our dress and grooming policy, information on our culture and peruse housing/transportation in Park City. We enforce our dress code strictly, we value the attitude of our guides and their “cultural fit” above previous experience or skill level, and we require that employees provide their own transportation to and from their job. If any of these factors will not work for you, please let us know so we can remove your application from consideration.
 
Once you’ve been contacted for an interview, please review our “Interviewing Tips.” Be aware that your first interview will be with one of our recruiters. If the recruiter feels you are a good fit for the position you will then be interviewed by a department manager or supervisor.
 
Following your second interview, one of three things will happen: 1) If it is determined you are not the right fit for Canyons, you will be emailed informing you of our decision, 2) You may be contacted for another interview to further determine your candidacy for employment at Canyons, 3) You will be called and offered a position at Canyons.
 
If you are offered a position at Canyons your recruiter will ask you for several references we can contact to verify your past employment and performance. Please have references’ names, phone numbers/email addresses and titles prepared so we may contact them. A mix of personal and professional references is appropriate. Depending on the job you are offered we may also require you to complete a background check or motor vehicle record report.
 
Once your references have been checked you will be sent an offer letter confirming your new job title, rate of pay and start date.  At that time we will also communicate the paperwork and training required for you to begin your new job and congratulate you on being our newest Canyons guide!
