Interviewing Tips

Interviewing Tips

Read on to discover the insider’s tips to a successful interview and hire at Canyons:

Apply online: Whether you’re applying to be a dishwasher or a vice president, all Canyons Guides must begin by filling out an online application. Please fill in as much of the application as possible (don’t assume that attaching a resume replaces completing information on the application.) If you choose to attach a resume, please use a PDF or Word file. Finally, as part of Canyons application process we will send you a link to a short survey to help us better understand what motivates you and creates your passion.  We will use all of the information you provide to help us find the best possible job for you.  It is very important you fill out your application completely for us to consider you for employment.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

If you’re contacted for an interview…
Know where you’re going. You can find a map of the HR office here: Parking is available in the gravel parking lots near the Sundial Lodge or Silverado Lodge.

Be on time. Your interview is your opportunity to “wow” us with your professionalism, preparedness and passion. Your punctuality to your interview sets the tone for the rest of the experience. If unforeseen circumstances arise, please have the phone number of your recruiter so you may call and inform them of your tardiness.

Dress appropriately. Review Canyons’ dress and appearance guidelines. If adhering to these guidelines is problematic for you, you may want to reconsider applying at Canyons. We recommend dressing professionally for your interview. Good hygiene and a polished appearance always make a good first impression!

Do your homework. We are proud of our company and are impressed by others who take the time to understand the many amazing features and qualities of Canyons. Discover information about the resort by examining our website, familiarizing yourself with our products and getting a feel for our culture. Please come prepared with any questions you may have about employment at Canyons, or the resort in general.

Be yourself! Canyons employs a diverse and dynamic team of passionate individuals. Show your enthusiasm for the job you are interviewing for. Let us get to know the reasons why you will be an asset to the Canyons team.

Canyons is proud to be a winner of the
2011 & 2012 Utah's Best Places to Work award.
