PARK CITY, UTAH (June 11, 2012) " Talisker on Main has received another groundbreaking nomination " and this time it's not for the world-class food being served in the stunning Main Street dining room " but for the restaurant design.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) will announce its eighth Annual Restaurant Design Awards next week at the West Coast's largest design show " Dwell on Design at the Los Angeles Convention Center " and Talisker on Main is one of nine finalists in the restaurant category " and one of just two outside of New York or Los Angeles.

"Talisker stands for quality, aspiration and great design " and we're honored to be nominated alongside some of America's most influential names in architecture and dining," said Rebecca Buchan, Sr. Vice President of Design for Talisker.

More than 1,000 restaurants were nominated. Other high profile finalists include Mario Batali's La Birreria, Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine (both New York) and Brent Stein's Take a Bao (Studio City, CA). Seattle's Poppy Restaurant is the other nominee not located in California or New York.

The distinguished jury is comprised of KCRW radio personality, chef & restaurateur Evan Kleiman, architect extraordinaire Mark Rios, FAIA and Bravo's wunderkind Top Chef winner & restaurateur Michael Voltaggio.

"Talisker on Main evokes the 1920's with its black-and-white checked floor, glittering tin ceilings, warm gold leaf details and comforting American food," said John Murcko, executive chef and Vice President of Food & Beverage for the Talisker Restaurant Collection. "The setting is intimate and unique, and the service impeccable " my team takes great pride in maintaining a dining experience as welcoming as the space itself."

The general public is invited to vote for their favorite architecturally-designed restaurant. Voting is now open and will be available thru 12:00 noon on Monday, June 18th. The recipient of the most votes in the category will also be declared the winner of the 2012 People's Choice Award at the award ceremony on June 22nd.
