Join us Tuesday, May 20th for Mountain Madness – the culmination to Mountain Trails Foundation's month long membership celebration at Canyons Resort! Mountain Madness is a family-friendly event, starting at 5:30 in the Canyons Resort Village.

Mountain Madness Event Highlights:

  • Film Viewing of Rising from Ashes at 7:30pm (82 minute documentary, narrated by Forest Whitaker, an inspirational story about a group of genocide survivors as they pursue the dream of a national cycling team).  Movie Trailer
  • Presentations from local organizations regarding this summer trail projects.
  • Complimentary, movie-themed treats.   Nacho Bar, fresh popped popcorn, candy station and beverages!  Canyons will donate space use, food and beverage to the event with all alcoholic beverage purchases going directly to Mountain Trails Foundation.
  • Every $10 of your membership equals one opportunity drawing ticket ($100 = 10 tickets). The drawing will include a set of carbon fiber bicycle wheels donated by Reynolds. Other valuable items donated by Vail Resorts/Canyons Resort will be part of the opportunity drawing as well.

Help us spread the word about May Membership Month, and don’t forget, Members Today = Trails Tomorrow.  Lora Smith, the Foundation’s Resource Manager, says, “As we head into the summer season, Mountain Trails will spend more than $100,000 on trails they manage. This budget is, in large part, supported by the trail-users’ membership donations.”  For more information on Mountain Trails, visit mountaintrails.org.

Canyons and Vail Resorts are proud to support Mountain Trails Foundation through the following initiatives:

Funding for the WOW Trail (Wasatch Over Wasatch), a new 21.5 mile trail connecting Summit and Wasatch Counties: Vail Resorts contributed a $35,000 cash grant to the overall funding and Canyons Employees will donate 1,000 hours to help build the trail on the following dates: July 12, Aug. 16 and Sept. 13.  For more information or to sign up to help, visit the event listing. All community members are welcome to volunteer through Mountain Trails Foundation.  With continued support the WOW trail will cbe comepleted a year ahead of schedule.

Guest Donation Program, an option to donate $1 to MTF per online transaction on canyonsresort.com: Canyons started the donation program in the the fall of 2013 with a kick off event at local coffee shops, called Wake Up Canyons.  The online donation porgram was active for all of the 2013-14 winter season and will continue this summer. Funds raised will be used for trail restoration and maintenance projects.
