PARK CITY, UTAH (For Immediate Release) – The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) presented Canyons Resort with the award for Best Use of Mobile Technology in the 14th Annual NSAA Marketing Awards at the 2013 NSAA National Convention.
Canyons’ Save Big, Ski Big program was designed to deliver a trial offer throughout the customer’s journey from home to Utah and to enable consumers to utilize mobile technology to take advantage of the offer at any point during the trip. Canyons used multiple touch points to deliver the offer, including boarding passes, a “takeover’ of the Salt Lake City airport baggage claim, ground transportation companies and the Park City transit system.
Mike Bisner, Vice President of Body Glove International and one of the award judges, lauded Canyons for enticing “the traveler to ski Canyons … and made mobile technology the delivery mechanism.”
“The compelling $20 discount offer was all that was needed to motivate the consumer to download the offer on their phone and present it at Canyons' ticket window,” he added. “The registrations and redemptions were off the charts.”
With 4,000 acres of world-class terrain, Top 10 rankings by multiple national publications and a transformation in recent years that has included new lifts, hotels, restaurants and both winter and summer adventures, Canyons is not only the largest ski and snowboard resort in Utah but one of the state’s most prominent year-round destinations.
“It’s exciting to showcase the transformed Canyons to new guests,” said Linda Warren, Chief Marketing Officer of Canyons and its parent company, Talisker Mountain Inc. “Mobile technology is a unique, creative way to encourage that trial. We are thrilled with the results and we look forward to welcoming many of these guests back next season.”
