For you movie buffs out there, Park City Film Series is showing A Late Quartet. Synopsis: The all-star cast of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken, and Catherine Keener, makes this film a complete delight. A LATE QUARTET pays homage to the professional music and cultural world of New York City. When the beloved cellist of a world-renowned string quartet can no longer perform to demanding standards, the group’s future suddenly hangs in the balance. Suppressed emotions, competing egos, and uncontrollable passions threaten to derail years of friendship and collaboration. As they are about to play their 25th anniversary concert, quite possibly their last, only their intimate bond and the power of music can preserve their legacy.
Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 6pm www.parkcityfilmseries.com
If you are in the mood for a little blues and boogie rock, head to Egyptian and catch the band Canned Heat. Famous for their hits “On The Road Again” in 1968 and “Going Up The Country” in 1969, Canned Heat secured their niche in rock ‘n roll history with their performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival (along with Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Who) and the headlining slot at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969. Guaranteed to be a rockin’ night!
Showtimes are 8pm on Friday and Saturday. http://www.egyptiantheatrecompany.org/
Be safe out there, folks!
