Faye Gulini is Ready for Sochi

I hope that your holidays have been as amazing as mine! I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with my family. I was able to take my eleven-year-old nephew snowboarding a few times, which was a ton of fun! I clocked a lot of hours at Canyons Resort and was able to sneak in a day of riding at North Star when I drove to California to drop my nephew off with my sister.

2013 Pre-season U.S. Snowboardcross Team training at Gorgoza Park, Park City

Anyways, I wanted to update you on my season and my progress and we creep closer to the 2014 Winter Olympics. So far I have competed in two of the five Olympic qualifying events. I placed 22nd in the first competition that was held in Montafon, Austria and 10th in the second comp in Lake Louise, Canada. I would have liked to do better in both but I suppose things could have been worse. Just competing is an absolute honor. I am happy with where I am at and I am confident my results will only improve from here on out. I am currently ranked 3rd for U.S Snowboard Cross Women. The Olympic Team will probably consist of 2-3 Snowboard Cross Women. I’m strong, healthy (mentally and physically), happy, and above all, confident that the goals I am working towards for this season will come to fruition. I am so very grateful that I have the opportunity to fight for an Olympic spot and compete amongst some of the most wonderful people I have ever had the privilege to be around. I am also thankful to have such a strong support group. Keep shredding and have an incredible season!

Thanks for listening,

Faye Gulini
