4th of July Sizzles in Park City

America’s favorite holiday is upon us.  A celebration of our Freedom and our country,  combined with barbecues, parades, and fireworks,  equals quite possibly the best celebration of summer. Wondering what to do here for the holiday? Park City and Canyons have the best  celebrations around, and I’ve prepared the perfect July 4th itinerary for you.  The weather is looking nice and hot, so be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.  Bust out your red, white, and blue, pack up your coolers, and I’ll see you there!

3:00pm: Paid parking begins in Cabriolet lot. Parking is $5, and all proceeds will be donated to People’s Health Clinic. Cash (preferred) and credit cards accepted.  ”Doors” open to Mountain Stage concert venue. Feel free to bring blankets, low back chairs, and picnics

4:00pm – 11:00pm: Shuttle buses will be running from Park City High School to Canyons to help with parking.  We encourage you to carpool, walk, run, ride your bike, or take advantage of the free public bus

5:00pm: DJ Velvet spins tunes on the Mountain Stage

7:30pm:  Get your groove on as The Soulistics play live on the Mountain Stage.  If you need to find me, I’ll be up front dancing.

Additional Notes:

  • Outside alcohol  and picnics will be allowed in.  Pack those coolers up with the goods.
  • No dogs please!

11:00am: Throw on your American flag attire and head to Main Street for the famous Fourth of July Parade celebrating Park City’s History.  Be sure to check out the skies for the Air Force Fly Over.

12:00pm – 4:30pm: Join the rest of the town for all day celebrations in City Park.  Seriously, its like one big party for the whole town!  Food, live music, beer garden, games, etc. Music line up includes Motherlode Canyon Band, Brogan Kelby, Dizzy Desoto, and Know UR Roots.

12:00pm – 6:00pm:  Head over to the Cabriolet Lot at Canyons to stock up on fresh produce, freshly baked bread, local cheeses, etc. for your evening picnic from the Park City Farmer’s Market, taking place on Thursday this week instead of  Wednesday.

Dusk: Find yourself a good spot at City Park or at the Park City Municipal Golf Course for the annual Fireworks show from Park City Mountain Resort.  No better way to end your 4th of July.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July! Enjoy the BBQs with your family and friends, and God Bless America.

About Caitlin

Growing up in sunny Los Angeles, Caitlin thought she was always meant to be a beach bum . . . until she got her first sun burn. Feeling the pull of the powder, Caitlin has been skiing in Park City since the ripe old age of 4, and moved here full time after a 4 year stint in Boston for school. As the Communications Coordinator, Caitlin lives and breathes Canyons Resort, which works out well because she is passionate about two things: skiing and food.
